Fox and Hare in Rosewood — Amsterdam 2025

Rosewood Amsterdam occupies the former Palace of Justice along the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Prinsengracht. After a decade of restoration, the hotel opened in spring 2025, housing over 1,000 Dutch artworks that move between historical and contemporary practice.

Art is central to the hotel’s identity, with over 1,000 contemporary and historic Dutch works thoughtfully integrated throughout the property—not as decoration, but as an invitation to pause, discover, and engage in dialogue. The collection moves between traditional and contemporary, honoring the legacy of the Dutch Masters while giving space to a new generation of artists.

Van Donselaar’s ceramic fox and hare find their place within this collection. The sculptures—created through intuitive material exploration—carry both tactile presence and symbolic weight, resonating with the building’s dedication to craftsmanship and heritage.
