Golden Facials at EVE, The Hague 2026

EVE Paleisstraat stands across from Paleis Noordeinde in The Hague, a culinary destination by Erik van Loo that opened in early 2026. Above the fine-dining restaurant, ten boutique hotel rooms offer guests an intimate stay where gastronomy meets refined hospitality.

The art program at EVE emerged through collaboration with De Galerie Den Haag, weaving contemporary works throughout the building. Art becomes part of the journey—from threshold to table—inviting moments of contemplation between courses.

Van Donselaar’s Golden Facials series inhabits the space at multiple scales: a vertical totem greets guests at the entrance, while smaller sculptures—a gilded apple, a contemplative snail—punctuate the dining room. Each work, adorned with 24-carat gold leaf, carries the marks of hand and fire, grounding the refined interior in ancient material traditions.

Between the formality of fine dining and the intimacy of boutique hospitality, the Golden Facials offer quiet counterpoints—familiar forms transformed through clay and gold into objects that bridge the everyday and the elevated.
